The Ochiba Business Solutions project plan is a template for the planning of
an SAP Business One implementation. This could be a complete system, or the
staged introduction of certain areas of Business One, such as Customer Contact
Management, Service Management etc. It could be used for the intoduction of any
ERP system.
Introduction
The Ochiba Project Management System (OPMS) for
implementing Business One is well proven and has been developed
over 20 years of first hand ERP installations. The building blocks
of the methodology break down to the following:
Business Analysis Review
Training Needs Analysis
Basic Module Training
Workshop Sessions
Process Confirmation
Configuration
User Skills Confirmation
Module Sign Off
Delivery of Documentation
Items 1 and 2 are often done at the pre-sales stage (by
arrangement) to confirm to both parties the degree of fit and set
expectations. If not, it is the first element of the
implementation.
Items 3 to 9 are done per module. In the plan modules are
shown serially, but related modules are in reality often streamed
in order to more closely fit the customer's business processes.
The remainder of the plan is subject to detailed planning nearer
the time. This could also include the introduction of Conference
Room Pilots(s) to prove the whole system giving users the go-live
confidence they require. This is dependant on the size and
complexity of the solution.
